Sunday morning my daughter, Zelda, our Corgi and I set out for a great day hike to Goodwin Lake. Goodwin Lake is located in the Gros Ventre Wilderness, accessed via the National Elk Refuge in Jackson, WY. Goodwin Lake is located at 9500 feet of elevation and is a 6 mile round trip moderate hike. This is a perfect hike for the kids! The trail winds through open meadows and forest, so it’s nice and shady for a hot Summer day. The lake is a small alpine lake with large boulders for diving from. Great place for a picnic!! The access is tricky to find and is located on a forest service access road. http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/btnf/recreation/hiking/recarea/?recid=77439&actid=50
